Static QR code
This tool creates static QR codes, so the content is stored directly in the QR pattern. The QR code itself does not expire, but a website link can stop working if its destination changes. Static codes cannot be edited after download and do not provide scan analytics.
How to Create a QR Code
Create and download a QR code in a few simple steps:
- Choose the type of QR code you want to create, such as URL, text, Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS, or contact card.
- Enter the information you want the QR code to contain.
- Customize the colors, size, error correction level, or add a logo if needed.
- Check the live preview and download the finished QR code as PNG or SVG.
The QR code is generated directly in your browser, so the information you enter does not need to be uploaded to Utillery.
QR Code Types You Can Create
| Type | What it does |

| URL | Opens a website or online link |
| Text | Displays plain text |
| Wi-Fi | Lets a compatible phone join a Wi-Fi network |
| Opens a new email with pre-filled details | |
| Phone | Starts a phone call to the encoded number |
| SMS | Opens a text message with a number and optional message |
| Contact Card | Lets the user save contact information as a vCard |
What Is a QR Code?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that can store information such as a website link, text, Wi-Fi credentials, contact details, or a phone number. A compatible smartphone camera can scan the pattern and open or use the encoded information.
The amount of information a QR code can hold depends on the type of data and error correction level. Shorter content generally creates a simpler QR pattern that is easier to scan.
PNG or SVG: Which QR Code Format Should You Use?
Use PNG for websites, presentations, documents, email, and other screen-based uses. Use SVG when the QR code will be printed or resized because SVG is a vector format and stays sharp at different sizes.
For reliable scanning, keep strong contrast between the QR code and its background, preserve the blank margin around the code, and test the finished QR code at its final display or print size before producing large quantities.
Frequently asked questions
Is this QR code generator free?
Yes. You can create and download static QR codes without creating an account.
Do QR codes created here expire?
The static QR code itself does not expire because the content is encoded directly in the pattern. However, a URL inside the code will only work while that destination remains available.
What is the difference between a static and dynamic QR code?
A static QR code stores its final content directly in the QR pattern and cannot be edited after it is created. A dynamic QR code normally points through an online redirect service, which can allow the destination to be changed and scans to be tracked. Utillery creates static QR codes.
Can I create a Wi-Fi QR code?
Yes. Enter the Wi-Fi network name, password, and security type. A compatible phone can scan the code and offer to join the network without manually typing the password.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG is convenient for digital use. SVG is better when you need to resize or print the QR code without losing sharpness.
Can I add my logo or brand colors?
Yes. Keep strong contrast and avoid covering important QR patterns. When a logo is used, higher error correction helps preserve scan reliability.
Is the information I enter stored by Utillery?
No. QR generation runs in your browser, so your entered content does not need to be sent to Utillery.
